Most people who travel to Japan are interested in hitting the shops as Japan’s reputation for great gifts, quirky gadgets and the latest fashion will not disappoint!

 Omotesando 表参道

Just a few minutes walk from Harajuku, is Omotesando. In Omotesando you can find a mix of up market fashion brands, chic cafes, restaurants and American brands like GAP. The building `Omotesando Hills’ was recently built and is a fine example of the how much Japanese people like shopping with the quality of the shops, selection of products and the beauty of the building itself. Just off Omotesando intersection you can find Japanese popular brands like `UniQlo’, casual, affordable clothing, girlie brand `Ash & Diamonds’ as well as bag brand by Garcia Marquez called `Crystal Ball’

Make sure to explore all the side streets and back allies as this is where more shops are!

Hope that you have some ideas and insights on where to head next time you are in Tokyo. Even if your wallet is not so big, they are still fun areas to check out all the amazing fashion trends in Japan

Happy Shopping!!!!!!

Akihabara 秋葉原

Known as ElectronicTown, Akihabara is the place to come if you are shopping for electronics, are a fan of game centres or interesting in visiting a maid cafés and anime! You can find a diverse range of electronics in around 600 shops who offer discounts from 10% – 50% off. It is also very famous for Japan’s subculture of animation characters and dressing up in costumes from games. I do recommend going to a maid café if you have time but some of them only allow men to enter or have minimal information in English

Ginza 銀座

If you are looking for high fashion items and brand names then Ginza is the place for you! Ginza is where you will find top fashion brands like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Prada and more. There are many department stores, tea houses and specialty stores. You can spend some serious money here. It is also a great place to visit on Sunday as the main street is blocked off so you can walk the streets with no cars, a really nice way to spend the day while people watching all the rich and famous. Ginza is also home to the SonyBuilding and Tasaki Pearl Gallery.

Shibuya is well known for the night lights, clubs, busiest intersection in Tokyo and FASHION! There are several; types of places to shop here from department stores such as Parco and Mitsukoshi to side stalls, independent and market like shops ranging from cheap to very expensive depending on your taste and budget. One area that you need to be seen is the building called `109’. It is 10 floors of women’s fashion!! Yes 10 floors. It is the most popular shopping centre for young Japanese ladies. Even if it is not your style, just seeing this range and shopping style is quite a Japanese experience in itself.

2. Asakusa 浅草

This is my favourite as there are so many little old shops where you can get some great gifts and Japanese products. Just head for SensojiTemple and the paymed area on the way is called Nakamise Shopping area – lots of fun and there are some great foods to try. It is also famous for rice crackers `senbai’, make sure you try some!! Thjere are some great tea houses tucked away in the side streets too and well as blowfish `fugu’ and whale meat restaurants

Best areas to shop:
1.Takeshita Dori, Harajuku 原宿

7  8

Harajuku is a great place to wonder as there are a lot of shops to visit and the more side streets you take, the more you’ll discover. The most popular place to shop is Takeshita-dori. It is one long street lined with shops from accessories, clothing, shoes to food, cafes and perfume shops. I do think if you want to get some cute products, get a chance to see `Harajuku girls’ dressed up and yummy crepes, this is the place for you!
