Niseko known as the snow powder paradise of the East. Making its debut in 1996, it has evolved to become a world recognised ski resort. Niseko attracts skiers and snowboards from all around the world, especially popular with Australian travelers, due to short flight times from most major cities in Australia (9.5 hours). No matter what you are looking for, Niseko: the one stop destination to satisfy all of your needs.

The Niseko Village (formally known as Niseko Higashiyama) will now be operated by the Hilton group for the 2008-09 ski season after extensive refurbishment. It has two time slots, from 08:30am-04:00pm and 06:00pm-09:00pm to keep kids entertained enabling parents enjoy both daytime and night time skiing. The resort is also planning to build more slopes for adventure skiers and Terrain Park to include hits, rails, waves and spines for all levels in their vast property. It also has wealth of non-ski activities to keep you entertained such as snow mobiling, tubing, movie nights, cooking school including ice cream, sausage and jam making using local produce, snow shoeing, winter horseback riding, arts and crafts, pottery, snow maze, and live entertainment. The resort also has onsen (hot spring) spas open 22 hours a day to ease the aches and pains after the whole day of snow activities.
