Day 1 Haneda/Narita Airport Tokyo

Welcome to Japan! Upon arrival at Narita or Haneda Airport, your private taxi driver will be waiting for you in the arrivals area with a nameboard. Be whisked away to your hotel for check in. Depending on the time of your arrival, you may have time for some sightseeing with your guide in the area around your hotel, however, any admission fees will be required on the spot. In the evening, enjoy dinner with your guide before returning to the hotel to relax and prepare for a full day of sightseeing tomorrow.

Day 2 Tokyo

Tokyo

Following breakfast at your hotel this morning, join your guide to head out on a full day tour, using Japan's efficient public transport system. You will spend the day exploring Tokyo’s most well-known landmarks, and a few not so well-known gems as well, including Hamarikyu Gardens, the Imperial Palace, Meiji Shrine, Harajuku, Shibuya Crossing & the world renowned Hachiko statue. Following completion of the tour, enjoy dinner with your guide before returning to the hotel to relax and prepare for another full day of sightseeing tomorrow.

Day 3 Tokyo

Following breakfast at your hotel this morning, join your guide to head out on a full day tour exploring more of the “must sees” of Tokyo. Travelling by public transport, you’ll have the opportunity to visit Nezu Shrine, Nezu no Taiyaki store, Yanaka cemetery, Tennoji Temple, Tsuiji-bei mud wall, Yanaka Ginza, Ueno (Toshogu Shrine  & Shinobazu Pond) and Asakusa (Nakamise Doori & Sensoji). Following completion of the tour, enjoy dinner with your guide before returning to the hotel to relax and prepare for your sightseeing trip to Kamakura tomorrow.

Day 4 Tokyo Kamakura Tokyo

Following breakfast at your hotel this morning, join your guide and travel by public transport to the seaside town of Kamakura for a full day sightseeing tour.  Visit Tsuruoka Hachimangu, the Great Buddha, and Hase Temple before returning by public transport to Tokyo and your hotel. Dinner will be  with your guide tonight.

Day 5 Tokyo Takayama

Today, please have packed a small overnight bag, as your main suitcase will be transferred directly from Tokyo to your hotel in Kyoto. Following breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the nearest station with  your English speaking guide and proceed to travel on Japan's world-famous bullet train from Tokyo to Takayama. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch with your guide followed by a half day sightseeing tour visiting Takayama Jinya and Kami Sannomachi. In the late afternoon, check into the hotel and enjoy dinner with your guide before returning to the hotel to relax and prepare for your sightseeing trip to Kanazawa tomorrow.

Day 6 Takayama Shirakawago Kanazawa

Following breakfast at the hotel, meet your English speaking guide at the Hotel lobby and walk over to Takayama Bus stop. Depart from Takayama on bus and travel to Shirakawago for sightseeing. For lunch, savour the taste of Japanese home-made cooking exclusive to this region. Afterwards, take a stroll around the thatched-roof village with your guide. Continue to Kanazawa by bus and visit Nomura Samurai House (Naga Machi District) and Kenrokuen garden, one of the top 3 Japanese gardens which offers amazing seasonal views all year round. Arrive at Kyoto station at 12:09pm and proceed, with your guide, on a Kyoto half day tour of Kiyomizu temple and Gion. In the early evening, return to the hotel for dinner with your guide and spend the evening relaxing and refuelling for more sightseeing tomorrow.

Following breakfast at your hotel this morning, join your guide and head out for a full day tour exploring Japan’s ancient capital; Kyoto – and some of its most well-known landmarks. Travelling by public transportation with your guide, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the famed Golden Temple; Kinkakuji, as well as Ryoanji, Tenryuji, and the breathtaking Bamboo Groove before heading to Togetsukyo Bridge. Following your day of sightseeing, you will return to the hotel by public transport. In the evening, enjoy dinner with your guide.

Day 9 Kyoto Nara Fushimi Inari Shrine Kyoto

Travelling on public transport, you'll have the chance to take in such sights as Kasuga Taisha (outside only), Todaiji Temple and Nara Park, famed for its tame deer roaming freely. Heading back towards Kyoto city, you will visit the Fushimi Inari Shrine; famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates. Return to Kyoto in the early evening and enjoy dinner with guide before returning to  your hotel to relax at your leisure.

Current Information Surrounding Travelling to Japan

  • It currently takes approximately 5 business days to apply for and book the necessary entry visa
  • There is currently a high volume of travellers looking to make their way their way to Japan and waity times at Consulates may vary. 
  • If your planned departure is within the next month, please contact the Japanese Consulate in your state to ensure that you are able to book a visa appointment to obtain the necessary travel visa prior to your departure date. 

1. Travel agents will be responsible for the reception of tour participants.
2. The itinerary of the tour must be predetermined and a Japanese company must submit your travelling plans to the ERFS system
3. Travellers must be accompanied by a tour conductor throughout the entire journey from entry to departure. No individual tourist traveling alone will be granted entry. Tour guides must accompany travellers during their stays to ensure that activities during the trips are carefully monitored.
4. Tour participants MUST have come from a country or region classified as a "Blue" category, and MUST have been in that country or region for at least 14 days prior to the date of arrival in Japan.

Requirements For Tour Participants

1. Throughout your stay in Japan, you will need to take basic infection prevention measures;

  • wear a mask
  • hand sanitizing
  • avoid the 3Cs (closed spaces, crowded places, and close-contact settings).

2. If the tour guide determines that your implementation of infection prevention measures is insufficient, you need to follow the instructions by the tour guide.
3. In order to smoothly carry out immigration procedures to Japan, please register at Visit Japan Web in advance and use Fast Track.
4. Purchase private medical insurance with coverage of medical expenses related to coronavirus (COVID-19) sufficiently.
5. If you are a positive person or a close contact of the novel coronavirus infection, you must travel in accordance with the instructions of travel agents, tour guides, medical institutions, public health centres, etc.
6. If you do not comply with the above, you will not be allowed to participate in (or continue) the tour.

Q1. What is the definition of a tour guide?
A1. "Tour guide" refers to a person who is in charge of countermeasures and emergency responses and can undertake the following requirements;

  • Be able to correctly understand and implement the concept and contents of the latest infection prevention measures in Japan.
  • Communicate smoothly in Japanese with medical personnel and local governments in Japan in the event of an emergency including the occurrence of a positive person. In addition, in emergency response, etc., sufficiently cooperate with the person in charge of acceptance.
  • To instruct tour participants in order to carry out the predetermined itinerary (Instructions on meeting time / places etc.).

Q2. Is free time of travellers allowed during the tour?
A2. Throughout the entire journey from entry to departure, travellers must basically be accompanied by a tour guide at all times. However, in any of the following cases, the tour guide may be allowed to temporarily leave the tour participant during the tour;

  • A place where it is difficult to confirm infection prevention measures by the tour guide, such as a changing room or a bathhouse.
  • When social distancing (over 2m) can be continuously ensured, such as outdoor activities or nature walks.
  • When almost no conversation can be continuously ensured (even if indoors where social distancing is not secured).
