Day 1 Tokyo


Welcome to Japan! Upon arrival at Narita or Haneda Airport, take a shared shuttle to your accommodation. Following check in at your hotel, the rest of the day is free to spend at leisure exploring the sights and sounds of Tokyo.

Day 2 Tokyo


Following breakfast, how would you like to try making your own sushi? Head to the designated meeting point to meet your guide and experience hand-shaping and rolling sushi, and of course, tasting your own work of art! You can also enjoy the many bustling shops around the outer area of the Tsukiji Market. Receive instruction on sushi making from a Tsukiji sushi chef. Even beginners can create a simple hand-pressed sushi. There are about 410 shops and restaurants at the Tsukiji Outer Market. The National Government Licensed English Guide Interpreter will lead the tour around Tsukiji Outer Market and through the many bustling shops. Following the conclusion of the tour, the afternoon and evening are yours to spend freely at your own leisure. Recommended areas for self-directed sightseeing include TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN® where you can explore Japan’s tallest structure freely (admission fee required to access TOKYO SKYTREE® observation decks). The Odaiba area is perfect for taking photos of Tokyo’s beautiful rainbow bridge, and of course, Shinjuku and Shibuya provide ample opportunity to experience the heart of Tokyo and see the famed Hachiko dog statue and congested scramble crossing.

Day 3 TokyoNikkoToyko


Following breakfast at your hotel, head out to meet your guide and join the Nikko World Heritage 1 Day Tour; visiting the most beautiful example of traditional architecture in Japan, Nikko Toshogu Shrine. After a Japanese style lunch at a local restaurant, visit Lake Chuzen-ji and Kegon Falls, one of the three famous waterfalls in Nikko. The tour will finish in the late evening in Shinjuku. Please make your own way back to your hotel.

Day 4 Tokyo Mt, Fuji Hakone

Tokyo  Mt, Fuji  Hakone

Following breakfast at your hotel, pack a small travel bag as your main suitcase will be transferred directly from Tokyo to your hotel in Kyoto. Travel by coach up to 2,300 metres on Japan’s highest mountain, Mt. Fuji, to see a spectacular view. After lunch at a local restaurant, next is a sightseeing cruise on Lake Ashi. The view of Mt. Fuji in the background from Lake Ashi is iconic in Hakone.  Lastly, take a ride on Mt. Komagatake Ropeway to the peak of  Mt. Komagatake for a stunning panoramic view of Lake Ashi and Mt. Fuji. After the tour, transfer from Hakone-en to your accommodation in Hakone and enjoy relaxing with dinner and hot springs for the evening.

Day 5 Hakone Odawara Station Takayama

Following breakfast at your ryokan, make your own way to Odawara Station. From here, use your JR Pass to take a bullet train to Nagoya, changing to the limited express train from Nagoya to Takayama. Upon arrival in Takayama, the afternoon / evening is yours to spend freely at your leisure. Takayama is a town famed for being deeply rooted in its local culture and history, where daily life still revolves around its longstanding traditional shops such as the tofu seller, sake brewery, Japanese sweets shop, and many more. Additionally, with over a dozen museums and galleries to suit all interests, and several well-kept temples and parks, there are plenty of ways to spend a relaxing afternoon in this quaint city.

Day 6 Takayama Shirakawa-go Kanazawa

Following breakfast at your hotel, head to the designated meeting point to embark on the Shirakawa-go Tour; visiting the World Heritage Site Gokayama Ainokura, then proceeding to Shirakawa-go. For lunch, savour the taste of Japanese home-made cooking exclusive to this region. Afterwards, take a stroll around the thatched-roof village on your own. Continue to Kanazawa by bus and make your own way to your hotel. The evening is free to spend at your leisure.

Day 7 Kanazawa Kyoto

Following breakfast at your hotel, join a fascinating morning tour of Kanazawa. For 180 minutes you will enjoy your own private taxi tour taking you to all the must see sights of this historical city. We recommend a course covering the former samurai residence at Nagamachi Samurai District, and Kenroku-en Garden, one of the top 3 Japanese gardens which offers amazing seasonal views all year round. Lastly visit Higashi Chaya District where wooden-latticed teahouses line both sides of the stone paved street (Please note, admission fees are not included in this costing. Please pay these yourself during the tour, and at the time of entry). This afternoon use your JR Pass to board the limited express train from Kanazawa to Kyoto and make your own way to your accommodation upon arrival.

Day 8 Kyoto


Following breakfast at your hotel, make your own way to the designated meeting point and join a morning cycling tour that will begin near Kyoto Station. Cycle through the backstreets of Kyoto city with the English-speaking guide to explore real Kyoto, which cannot be accessed by cars. This 15km cycling tour visits Geisha Quarters Miyagawa-cho, Ishibei Koji Alley, the Gion district, Yasaka-jingu Shrine, Shirakawa River and Heian-jingu Shrine. The tour will end at Kyoto Station between 12:30 and 13:00. Please note that participants on this tour must be between the ages of 12 and 70 and be 155cm in height or taller. The afternoon is free at leisure for you to explore the old capital of Kyoto and its many tourist attractions. We recommend taking in sights such as Arashiyama Sagano Bamboo Grove - Explore beautiful bamboo forests and historic temples set among the sublime natural environment.

Day 9 Kyoto Nara Kyoto

Following breakfast at your hotel, enjoy free time at leisure relaxing in Japan’s ancient capital. In the early afternoon, meet your tour guide at the designated meeting point and travel to Nara, visiting Todai-ji Temple which houses the Great Buddha, and Nara Park where many tame deer roam freely. Also visit colourful Kasuga-taisha Shrine, with 3,000 lanterns. Upon return to Kyoto in the early evening, spend the rest of the night at your own leisure.

Day 10 Kyoto Hirsohima Kyoto

Following breakfast at your hotel, make your way to Kyoto Station to catch the JR Bullet Train from Kyoto to Hiroshima, where you will meet your guide and embark on a tour of the highlights of Hiroshima including Miyajima Island, Itsukushima Shrine, the Peace Memorial Park and Museum and the legendary Atomic Bomb Dome. When the tour concludes, take the JR Bullet Train from Hiroshima back to Kyoto.

Day 11 Kyoto


Following breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a full free day at leisure further exploring Japan’s ancient capital. With an abundance of beautiful, and historically significant, gardens, temples, shrines and other historically priceless structures dotted around the city you are sure to have a full day of sightseeing ahead of you!

Day 12 Kyoto Osaka

Following breakfast at your hotel, make your own way to Osaka by train. Upon arrival in Osaka, check into your hotel and spend time relaxing at your leisure. In the afternoon, head to the designated meeting point to meet your guide and join a unique night food walking tour in Shinsekai where you can experience downtown Osaka whilst enjoying various dishes loved by locals.

Day 13 Osaka


Following breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a full free day at leisure further exploring Osaka. We recommend a visit to the famous landmark Osaka Castle Garden. Surrounded by greenery, the garden commands a beautiful view of the castle tower and the stone wall of a moat. Also recommended is the Dotonbori; one of Osaka's most popular tourist destinations, and running parallel to the Dotonbori canal. It is a popular shopping and entertainment district and is also known as a food destination. At night it is lit by hundreds of neon lights and mechanized signs, including the famous Glico Running Man sign and Kani Doraku crab sign.

Day 14 Osaka Kansai Airport

Following breakfast at  your hotel, enjoy your last hours in Osaka at leisure until it is time to depart to Kansai Airport via train.

Day 2: Tsukiji Outer Market and Sushi Workshop
※If the minimum number of participants (1) is not met by 7 days before the scheduled date, the tour on that date may be cancelled. Please inform us of your accommodation and contact details for the day prior to the tour. Participants will be contacted if the tour is cancelled.
※As this is a walking tour, please wear shoes and clothing that are suitable for walking.
※Please note that the tuna auctions will not be seen on this tour.
※ When touring Tsukiji Outer Market, please watch out for forklifts and other vehicles driving about.
※The venue of the sushi-making workshop may be changed to Ginza after touring Tsukiji Outer Market. In this case, the itinerary will be: Tsukiji Outer Market (40 min); Tsukiji Station or Ginza-itchome Station; sushi-making workshop; and tour end at Ginza Station.
※The tour will proceed even in case of rain.
※This is a sushi making tour using fish.
※Please understand that allergy-friendly options are not available.
※Please understand that vegetarian meals are not available on this tour.
※Lunch will be the sushi made at the sushi experience.
※Sushi is prepared by hand using raw fish. Please note that sushi toppings may be different depending on the day.
※Please note that the sushi-making workshop may be conducted along with other groups.
※As you will be walking in a very crowded area, please make sure you follow the guidance of the National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter.

Day 3: 1-Day Nikko World Heritage Tour  

※Heavy traffic due to coloured leaves is expected every year on Irohazaka Winding Road from Oct. 11 to Nov. 6. Therefore, Kegon Falls and Lake Chuzenji will not be visited during this period. In such cases, one of the following will be visited instead of Kegon Falls: Taiyuuin Mausoleum at Rinno-ji Temple, Futarasan Shrine, Kirifuri Falls, or Tamozawa Imperial Villa. 
※The alternative plan may be used even outside of the designated period due to road conditions or other reasons. No refunds will be issued as a result of location changes. 
※The tour will walk up and down steps and hilly paths at Nikko Toshogu Shrine and Kegon Falls. Be sure to wear shoes and clothing which are comfortable to walk in. 
※An earphone guide will be provided to each participant at Nikko Toshogu Shrine. However, if there are less than 15 participants earphone guides may not be used.  A fee of JPY 10,000 may be incurred if an earphone guide is lost or damaged by a participant. 
※As the tour uses a bus for the entire itinerary, arrivals at each site may be delayed due to road conditions. 
※Vegetarian meals, wheat allergy meals, and soy allergy meals must be requested at the time of booking.     
※Depending on road conditions, the tour may stop at a different parking area (rest area) instead of the Hanyu Parking Area. In this case, please note that the different rest area will not be a representation of an Edo Period Town.            

 Day 4: Mt Fuji & Hakone 1 Day tour, taxi service to Hotel or Ryokan
※You will drive up to the highest possible point when the road up to Mt. Fuji 5th station is closed.
※Hakone Ropeway or Pirate Boat Cruise on Lake Ashi may be omitted or substituted due to weather conditions. The tour guide shall take you to one or two alternative sightseeing spots. Tour will not be cancelled or the tour fee will not be refunded.
※Even if Mt. Fuji and others are invisible due to the weather conditions, the tour will not be cancelled or tour fee will not be returned.
※Beverages during lunch and dinner, Insurance is not included.
※The itinerary (tour completion time, visiting time, schedule & others) may be changed due to heavy traffic, weather conditions, or other operational reasons.
※Note the bus may make multiple stops at hotels in the Hakone area after sightseeing concludes.
※Vegetarian meals are available and muse be requested at the time of booking.
※Allergy-friendly meals, etc. are not available.  

Day 6: Shirakawa-go Tour 
※Depending on operational circumstances, certain tour dates may be cancelled, or tour operation may cease entirely. 
※Seats on the bus may not be designated.
※The lunch venue may be changed to a different venue located near Shirakawago or Suganuma. 
※Please understand that there is no vegetarian option available. Soba (buckwheat) noodles are included in the lunch menu.
※No changes to the menu can be made. No refunds will be issued even if the lunch is not eaten.
※The tour uses a regular sightseeing bus that departs on schedule from each departure location.
※If a customer boards the wrong vehicle, no refunds or compensation for additional expenses will be provided.
※Always wear your seatbelt when the bus is moving & please refrain from talking on the phone while on the bus.
※Please stick to the scheduled times, as all participants travel together on this tour.
※The amount of time spent at destinations may be shortened or altered depending on road conditions and other unavoidable circumstances.
※The outdoor museum is closed on Thursdays from December to March (preceding Wednesday if Thursday is a national holiday), and cannot be entered. To make up for this, participants will receive a souvenir. The type of souvenir may vary. Thank you for your understanding.
※Children up to 5 years old may join free of charge, but will not be provided with bus seats or meals. If bus seats are necessary, please make a booking. Children are classified as up to 12 years of age. Ages are determined based on how old the participant will be on the day of the tour.

Day 7: Fixed-price Kanazawa City Sightseeing Taxi 
※Please show a printed copy of the reservation confirmation sheet to the driver. Drivers can speak conversational English.
※Due to potential traffic conditions and customer circumstances, there is no guarantee this tour will be able to visit all sites on the model itineraries. 
※Please note that depending on the date, some sightseeing spots may be closed.
※Please do not be late for your specified pick-up time. Usage time is calculated starting from the scheduled pick-up time.
※Participants may arrange their own sightseeing itinerary as long as it is within the allotted 180 minutes (limited to within Kanazawa City).
※Toll road fees, parking fees, facility admission fees, etc. are not included. If such expenses are accrued they must be paid by the customer on the day of the plan.
※Additional fee required if the time limit is exceeded.
※No refunds will be issued even if taxi use is not for the full 180 minutes.
※As this tour uses a compact taxi, large baggage cannot be loaded on board. Please participate with a bag small enough to conveniently carry. For any luggage that cannot be loaded on the taxi, please store it in coin lockers on your own.
※Arrival at your desired destinations may be delayed or locations inaccessible depending on road conditions and traffic. No compensation can be given for accommodation costs, transportation costs, or telecommunications costs arising from missing scheduled transportation at the end of the tour. And, if eating a meal during the allotted time, the time used for the meal will also be counted as part of the allotted time.
※Smoking, eating, and drinking are not permitted in the taxi.
※For your own safety, please fasten your seatbelts. 

Day 8: Real Kyoto Back Street Guided Cycling Tour
※If the minimum number of participants (2) is not met by 4 days before the scheduled date, the tour on that date may be canceled.
※Participants on this tour must have experience riding a bicycle and be able to ride a bicycle on their own without issue. No refunds will be given to customers who are unable to ride a bike on the day of the tour.
※Participants on this tour must be between 12 years of age or older, and be 155 cm in height or taller.
※The tour route is about 15 km in total. This tour will be conducted even in the case of rain. Rain gear will be provided for free in the case of rain.
※In the case of rain, this cycling tour may be changed to a walking tour, depending on requests from participants. If so, the route will partially be changed. There will be no refunds as a result of this change.
※This tour will not enter Heian Shrine's Shin-en garden.
※Tour destinations may not be changed. Be sure to confirm the destinations in advance.

Day 9: Nara Afternoon Tour
※If the minimum number of participants (1) is not met by 4 days before the scheduled date, the tour on that date may be canceled.
※During the Gion Festival (Sakimatsuri, July 15 - 16), drop-off service to Karasuma Kyoto Hotel and Hotel Nikko Princess Kyoto will be unavailable due to traffic restrictions.
※Participants will walk from the parking lot to Todai-ji Temple (about 15 min one-way). Thank you for your understanding. Please inform us at the time of booking if any person in your group is using crutches or a wheelchair, or has a chronic illness that makes it difficult to walk for long distances.
※At Kasuga Taisha Shrine, the tour does not include entrance to areas requiring admission.
※Nara Nagomikan may be omitted from the itinerary if it is closed on the day of the tour, or as a result of traffic congestion.
※The order of activities and arrival times may differ depending on road conditions and congestion at destinations.

Day 10. Hiroshima & Miyajima Tour (Depart: Hiroshima)
※Manner of transportation (mini bus, taxi, train or tram) between Hiroshima and Miyajima will vary depending on the number of participants.
※Lunch is not included in the tour. Please have lunch on your own at Miyajima.

Day 12: Shinsekai Evening Street Food Tour
※If the minimum number of participants is not met by 4 days prior to the tour date, the tour may be cancelled.
※There is a strict policy regarding tours starting on time. This is to protect the enjoyment of all our guests and restaurant partners. If you are not able to arrive at the meeting point by the departure time, the tour will start regardless and no refund will be provided.
※The tour operators are unable to accommodate meeting up in any of the food stops once you’ve missed the start of the tour.
※Dietary restrictions & allergies must be advised at the time of booking.
